English Language and Arts Education

Barli graduated from Boston University in 2002 with a Master’s Degree in English and language Arts Education. He is now doing a PhD in English Linguistics at Victoria university of Wellington, New Zealand.

Prior to receiving the Kelly Elizabeth Stephens Memorial Scholarship, Barli worked as a lecturer at Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta. Barli emphasizes the impact of receiving the scholarship to the institution where he worked, through his statement: “What I gained from Boston University, particularly knowledge and skills of English, has enriched and helped me considerably in the attempt to take part in sharing and bettering English language education at Sanata Dharma University Yogyakarta.”
